Day Two: Catch Up
Today was Cheryl's second visit in her first series of Chemotherapy.
Sean took her yesterday and the treatment lasted nearly five hours.
Today's was a bit shorter, four hours.
The drugs she is being given are: Eloxatin; Wellcovorin (Leucovorin); and 5FU.
Day one was a period of IV induced meds and then a small pump was attached to come home overnight with.
Today, more of the same, IV w/ saline and then the meds and another night with the pump.
Seems all summer with the KCI Woundvac was good training for this treatment!
Her side effects yesterday were sick stomach and mild dizziness. Today, she has more of the same and seems more tired. Her face was very flushed this afternoon but has lessened some tonight.
Her attitude is rock steady and laughing as usual. Solid kid she is.
I'm hoping to get her online to log her perspective of this treatment soon.

Hey Cheryl,Rick and Sean,
Hang in there. All of us up in MA are pulling for you. Our prayers are definitely meant to keep you strong. I love you.
Brenda
Hi Guys,
We all sent some Christmas wishes & prayers to you. Mom, Fred, Dave & Diane, JP & Melinda and me and Mike. We didn't get a chance to talk to Ed. He's still in Maryland. He didn't want to make the trip up with a 5 month old. I can see the logic in that!!!
Love, Brenda

Cheryl:
I did it again. I had this nice little msg all typed out and it did not post!@#$@! I don't know what I am doing wrong but I will try again while Ronnie sits here and giggles at me for losing the stuff!
Doodle and Bill called today checking up on you. They send their love, hugs, kisses and prayers. They are planning on keeping in touch with us to get the lastest and greatest information about you since they don't have computers. I will keep this msg short and send a second if it goes. Love Connie
I did it! I did it! Maybe I have this thing figured out so I will catch you up on our adventures of the day. We went to all the Goodwill stores in Little Rock today in good "Dump Hound" fashion. I found some real bargains and saved tons of money by spending it all! We went by the Habitat Store and found all kinds of neat things. I came home with a stain glass sun catcher which I just love for only $1. Now that is a bargain!!! Ronnie enjoyed himself and said to tell Ricky that he found him a set of golf clubs with bag for only $30. Don't you wish he had bought them? Now he wishes he had got them and than gone straight to the pawn with them and doubled his money. He was having a slow mind day, he says. Just got to get his mind right! Glad to hear that you are up some and remember to keep drinking lots of fluids. That always will make you get up (to use the pot). We will keep in touch if I can remember how this thing works. I have already written you a book and it has gone into cyber space somewhere. Never to be heard from again. We just finished dinner and I am full and content so I guess I will get off of here and send more tomorrow. Rest well and know we are thinking of you and wish we were there. All of our love....Connie and Ronnie

Hey Cheryl!
It WILL get better. Just know that. And know that I'm thinking of all of you and all the fun stuff we did as kids on 240 High St. I think my bike is still parked there somewhere. I love you, Mary (Roza) Sylvia
I'm so sorry that I've missed you.
Though my life has been a little crazy since I left San Antonio, I thought of you often and wished you well.
Peace to you and your family.
JP.
